Privacy Policy

MyFaithWalk ("we", "our", or "the app") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle your information when you use our mobile application.
Information We Collect
MyFaithWalk is designed with privacy in mind. We collect minimal information to provide and improve our services:
- Your content: Journal entries, prayer requests, saved verses, streaks, and preferences are stored on your device. While you are signed out, they stay there and we cannot see them.
- If you sign in (optional): Signing in with Apple or Google exists so that a lost or replaced phone does not cost you your history. When you do, a copy of the content above is stored in our database (Google Firebase) and tied to your sign-in, which means we are technically able to read it. We do not read it, mine it, or share it, but we will not claim we cannot. Signing in with Apple or Google also gives us the name and email address attached to that account; Apple’s “Hide My Email” gives us a relay address instead of your real one. You never have to sign in — every feature except this backup works signed out.
- Chat messages: When you use the chat feature, your messages are sent to our server to generate responses. We do not store or log these conversations.
- Subscription data: If you subscribe to premium features, your purchase is processed by Apple (App Store). We use RevenueCat to manage subscription status. We do not collect or store your payment information.
- Notifications: If you enable notifications, every reminder is scheduled and delivered by your own device. We do not use push notification servers, so no reminder you receive passes through us. From version 2.4.0 onwards, the optional evening prompt — the one that suggests journalling, resting or asking a question — is counted in our anonymous analytics: which of those three was offered, and whether it was tapped. That is a count of our own prompts, carries nothing you have written, and is tied to the same random identifier described under Analytics. Reminders of the daily devotional itself are not counted at all.
- Anonymous usage analytics: We record which parts of the app are used — that a devotional was opened, for example, or that a reading plan was started — so we can tell what is helping and what is not. These records are not linked to your name, email, or any account, and they never include anything you have written. The Analytics section below lists exactly what is and is not recorded.
Information We Do Not Collect
- We do not require account creation or login — signing in is entirely optional and only enables the backup described above
- We never collect your phone number
- We do not collect your name or email address unless you choose to sign in
- We do not collect GPS or precise location data
- Nothing you write ever reaches our analytics — not the content, not the length, not the subject
- We do not display advertisements
- We do not sell, share, or trade any user data
Analytics
From version 2.4.0 onwards we use PostHog, a third-party analytics service, to understand how the app is used. It is the only tracking in the app and it is deliberately narrow.
What is recorded:
- That a devotional was opened, and which of its three parts you reached
- That a reading plan was opened, and which plan it was
- Which feature led you to the subscription screen, and whether a subscription was completed
- If you answer the optional question when you first open the app, which of the listed options you chose
- When the app is installed, opened, or updated
- Your device model, operating system, app version, language, and time zone
- Your IP address, from which PostHog works out an approximate city and country. We never receive your precise location.
What is never recorded: the text of your journal entries, prayers, or chat messages — not the content, not the length, not the subject. Screen and session recording is switched off. Automatic capture of taps and screens is switched off. Nothing you write ever reaches our analytics.
These records are tied to a random identifier created on your device when you install the app. It is not connected to your name, email, or any account, we cannot use it to identify you, and deleting the app discards it. See PostHog's Privacy Policy.

Data Storage and Security
All personal content (journal entries, prayers, favorites, preferences) is stored on your device. If you have never signed in, it stays only there, and deleting the app permanently removes it.
If you have signed in, a copy is also held in Google Firebase, as described above. Deleting the app removes the copy on your device but not that one. To have the stored copy deleted, email support@faithwalkapp.com from the address you signed in with and we will delete it, along with your sign-in record, within 30 days.
Children's Privacy
MyFaithWalk does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. The app is suitable for all ages, but in-app purchases require parental authorization.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated effective date.
